Purpose

Where necessary, Aperture identifies the boundary and recommends separate involvement by qualified legal, accounting, technical, medical, engineering, laboratory, cyber, investigative or jurisdiction-specific specialists.

Availability and approval

Specialist input is arranged only where appropriate and approved.

Where specialist input appears necessary, Aperture may identify the requirement and, with the client’s approval, recommend, coordinate with or seek input from an appropriately qualified independent specialist. Availability cannot be guaranteed.

Aperture does not represent external specialist work as its own professional opinion and does not imply that suitable specialists are available in every jurisdiction or within every requested timeframe.

Aperture’s role

Specialist escalation begins with recognising and documenting the boundary of the assignment.

  • Identify where the matter exceeds Aperture’s competence or authority
  • Formulate the specialist question
  • Explain why escalation is needed
  • Obtain client approval before external cost or work
  • Integrate the specialist input accurately without misrepresenting it as Aperture’s own expertise
