Trust and handling
Confidentiality begins before substantive work starts.
Aperture uses written scoping, controlled communication and proportionate handling practices to reduce unnecessary exposure of client information.
Information handling
How Non-Public Information Is Handled
Security measures are selected according to the sensitivity, lawful requirements, agreed scope and available delivery environment.
This visual flow is presented as an ordered set of labelled steps. Each step remains readable without animation or colour.
Initial contact
Do not send privileged, highly sensitive or evidentiary material through the initial enquiry form or ordinary WhatsApp communication.
- Use the enquiry form to describe the matter at a high level.
- Official assignment communication remains by email for traceability.
- An appropriate transfer method can be agreed after suitability and scope review.
Need-to-know handling
Information is handled according to the agreed purpose, scope and practical requirements of the assignment.
- Access is limited to those genuinely required for the work.
- External specialists are not engaged without the agreed client process.
- Distribution and permitted use of outputs are addressed in the proposal or engagement terms.
Important limitation
Aperture cannot create legal privilege by itself. Where privilege is important, the client should obtain advice from its legal counsel and structure the instruction accordingly.
Handling level
Classify before sharing.
Depending on the matter, information may be treated as Public, Internal, Confidential, Highly Confidential, Legally Sensitive or Client Restricted. The agreed process can address access, secure transfer, storage, retention, deletion, backup, breach response and final archive requirements.
Where evidential integrity matters, the original file remains unchanged and separate working copies are used for OCR, redaction, annotation, conversion and analysis.
