For acquirers

Research the market against your buy box before you spend time pursuing it.

Aperture turns a defined acquisition thesis into an evidence-backed search, shortlist and target-verification workflow. We sell independent research. We do not broker the transaction, negotiate the purchase price or take a closing fee.

What we need from you

THE BETTER THE BUY BOX, THE BETTER THE RESEARCH.

Thesis & geography

Sectors, subsectors, markets, transaction rationale and the places you can actually acquire.

Scale & economics

Revenue, EBITDA or enterprise-value ranges, margin requirements, recurring revenue and capital intensity where material.

Control & ownership

Platform or add-on, majority or minority, owner-transition expectations, management requirements and transaction exclusions.

Immediate disqualifiers

Customer concentration, turnaround tolerance, regulatory issues, capex burden, geography, business model or any fact that should eliminate a target early.

Buyer research ladder

START WITH THE SEARCH. DEEPEN ONLY WHERE THE EVIDENCE EARNS IT.

1

Acquisition Search Sprint

Define the buy box and build the initial evidence-backed target universe.

2

Acquisition Landscape

Map a market or subsector more deeply where the opportunity universe is broader.

3

Target Verification Brief

Test the material facts behind selected targets before more expensive diligence.

4

Further diligence research

Investigate the specific propositions that remain material to the client's decision.

5

Controlled contact route

Where lawful and requested, assess contactability or a bounded introduction. Otherwise the client contacts the target directly.

6

Acquisition Watch

Keep searching and detect new targets or material changes against the mandate.

What a shortlist means

A RESEARCH FIT IS NOT A RECOMMENDATION TO BUY.

Aperture can classify a candidate as no fit, possible fit, strong research fit or high-priority human review. That means the evidence justifies more attention. It does not mean the parties should transact.

Negative evidence matters.

A strong acquisition search should eliminate weak candidates early. Exclusions, contradictions and unknowns are part of the value, not defects to hide.

Send the acquisition criteria you actually use.

Tell us what you buy, why now, the geography, the size range, the ownership structure, the exclusions and what would make a target worth deeper verification.
